Sad and Touching Pittsburgh Moment

I was out walking Tashi this afternoon. Approaching a busy intersection that has a traffic light, I see a bus slow down in the intersection and lay on the horn. And then I see why. A young woman is riding her bike. In the bike lane. But the bus can’t get by, so the driver decided to be a jerk.

I see the woman give the finger to the bus driver, just as the bus is passing. I think to myself, that’s a justified reaction. But then after the bus passes, she lays her bike down in the street and starts crying.

I’m across the street. I feel just awful. I shout across to her “You did nothing wrong!”

Then a car turns the corner. The driver obviously saw the incident as well. A woman gets out of her car, goes right over to the cyclist, and gives her a hug. There are kind people in the world.

Be one of them.
